We are looking for approximately 8 new referees for the upcoming Mite Season.

To become a New Referee:

You must be a PeeWee/U12 or higher Level Skater from our Association.
You must register with USAH as an Official (this is different than registering as a player) cost to register for Level 1 is $35.00 for USAH and $10.00 for Minnesota Hockey, for a total of $45.00.
You must register and attend a Level 1 or higher Referee Seminar - Seminar information can be found on the USA Hockey website under the Officials Tab.  
You must complete and pass the online test after you attend the Level 1 or higher Referee Seminar.
You must purchase a Referee Shirt and Whistle.  Approximate cost of $30.00 to $40.00.

Depending on your availablility and the number of referees you should expect to Referee 3-5 games during the regular season and 7-10 games during the Mite Jamboree in March 2013.  Referees will be paid $12 per game.  Referees will be paid one check at the end of the Mite Season about one week after the Jamboree.

The first 8 new players who contact the Referee Coordinator will be added to the list with the returning Referee's for this season.  After that players will be placed on a waiting list in the order they contact the Referee Coordinator.

Anyone who is 12 or under can not sign up for a Clinic online, if you are a new or returning Referee who is age 12 or under contact the Referee Coordinator so that he can contact the Clinic Instructor and get you signed up.  You will need to provide Name, Date of Birth, Address, Phone Number, Email Address and USA Hockey Referee Registration Number (you will get this number when you regsister on the USA Hockey website as a Referee, Note: this number is different than the number you recieve when you register as a player)

All returning Referees and the first 8 new Referees should sign up for and attend a Clinic, Complete and Pass the online test.  After passing the online test you will recieve an email from USA Hockey that confirms you have passed the test, you must forward this email to the Referee Coordinator, this secures your spot on the list of Referees.

Anyone on the waiting list can attend a Clinic and complete the requirements to become a Referee, but will not be secured a spot on the list of Referees unless a returning or new Referee does not complete all of the requirements.
