Calendar options |

Have you considered looking into providing an iCalendar feed? That way the calendar could be feed both to Outlook and other calendars like Google Calendar. It certainly would be a nice feature to have.
Also, what about allowing the ice schedule to actually feed into each teams calendar automatically. It would eliminate double entry by the ice scheduler and team. It would make it easier for the teams to manage their schedules. If the entry was created by the ice scheduler or other admin type, then it could not be edited by the team manager and vice versa. If a change to either the ice schedule or the team calendar creates a conflict, just pop up an error to whoever is trying to make the change.
Just would like to see it made a little simpler since I am the Ice Scheduler for SLPYHA.
Thanks,
Gerry Miller |

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, we have added an iCal feed. It is in some of our Summer sport sites and will be installed in the remaining sites this week. It will be in all Hockey sites by July.
As to ice scheduling, we already have that feature. Not sure that Spring Lake Park uses it. We also let the ice schedule sync up with Max Solutions ice scheduling software. Ice schedulers using that software can set it to sync with the website and the schedule can automatically fan to team pages. The Master Schedule can be set to display as well in a grid capable of queries.
Let me know if you want to get on the phone to discuss options. We can absolutely help you out.
Thanks, Mike |

Hi Mike,
We did use the scheduling piece last year and that works well. However, our teams always want to use the calendar at the bottom of the page to show their schedule. The ice schedule doesn't feed into that calendar. If it did, that would make it really simple and allow us to make changes more quickly. Now, when I make a ice schedule change, I update the ice schedule for all the teams affected and then send an e-mail to all the coaches/managers who then update their calendars.
Does the Icalendar feed work off of the ice schedule or the calendar?
Thanks,
Gerry |

OK. I was not aware that you used the Max Solutions feature we have in place. We are working this Summer, with Wayzata Hockey, to bring the ice schedule into the main team calendar. That likely meets your need as well. We need to find a way to block the team from editing those events since they are scheduled by the ice scheduler. We will be doing that.
The iCal feed works from the main site calendar and the team calendars.

Hi,
I'm just checking to see if the ICal feed will be available when we need it in September and if the ice schedule feed into each team calendar will be ready as well.
Thanks,
Gerry |
