CONGRATS ON A FANTASTIC 2025-2026 CUBS SEASON
Although one additional ice slot was made available on Super Bowl Sunday, this weekend marked the official end of this seasons Cubs Program.
Congrats to all of the kids for completing the program, and earning their medals this weekend. The entire association is so proud of you and cannot wait to see what your future holds.
We look forward to seeing you back again next year in our Cubs program, and we also hope to see most of you in Mites next year!

Our Cubs program is our Learn-To-Play program and is intended for players just beginning their hockey experience. It is available to anyone in the Mini-Mite or Mite age classifications on the "Minnesota Hockey Age Cutoff Dates". No previous experience is required with hockey.
Cubs will meet once a week on Sunday. They will meet starting in late October until early February, with a few breaks in-between. The program is designed to give beginners a chance to learn the basics of skating and hockey with less of a commitment, both time and financial. All Cubs will receive a jersey and socks! At the end of the program, there will be a graduation, where each player receives a medal!
*** Upon registering families will be given a $200 GIFT CARD for Lettermen Sports to help cover most of the costs of equipment for their new skater. ***

"Cubs" consists of approximately 10 weeks of fun and games on the ice designed to teach the kids the basics and develop a love of the game. Each player will receive an authentic Panther jersey and socks, and a medal at the end of the year.
- Cubs Fee consists of a single $150.00 payment to be collected upon conclusion of the registration session via Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or checking account.

PANTHER CUBS SCHEDULE
We are excited for another year of Panther Cubs! The season will start late in October, and run through early February. This program typically consists of one session per week on the weekend, with a couple breaks during holidays. See the attached schedule for the 2025-2026 season. While we attempt to keep this schedule set, be aware that some slight changes may happen during the season. Sports Engine will be updated should any changes occur.
CUBS INVITED TO TRY SKATING W/ MITES
OCTOBER 19, SUNDAY, 3:50 - 4:50PM @ SUPER RINK 1
OCTOBER 22, WEDNESDAY, 6:50 - 7:50PM @ SUPER RINK 1
While Cubs is a fun and welcoming environment, kids 5 and older (& even some 4 year olds) really should consider also joining the Mite program. By joining Mites, they will get over double the amount of ice time in the form of practices, as well as real hockey games versus other associations, even a couple fun jamborees with spot lights and smoke machines.
I know what you're saying, "my pre-k daughter can barely stand-up, no way can she play Mites". We've been doing this a long time, and can tell you that even if you're child can barely even skate, they will have an absolute BLAST on a lower level Mite team. My 4 year old will be doing both Cubs as well as D-Mites (D being the lowest level). Nearly our entire D mite team rosters last year consisted of Cubs that weren't sure but decided to play up, and I can tell you they had an incredible season!
To help encourage signing up for both Cubs AND Mites, all Cubs are invited to come to the New Skater pre-skate groups for mites. If nothing else, it's 2 extra hours of free ice time. We highly encourage you to participate. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out!

Come join us on the ice for our Try Hockey For Free event, the perfect way to recover after a Vikings loss (did we just jinx them)?
This event is meant to let all Spring Lake Park families, regardless of age or talent, to come hit the ice for some free fun!
Free skate rental will be provided. We do recommend wearing gloves and a helmet, regular ol' winter gloves/mittens and a bike helmet will suffice!
