PANTHER CUBS REGISTRATION IS OPEN

Our Cubs program is our Learn-To-Skate program and is intended for players just beginning their hockey experience.  It is available to anyone in the Mini-Mite or Mite age classifications on the "Minnesota Hockey Age Cutoff Dates".

Cubs will meet once a week on Sunday. They will meet starting in October until mid-February, with breaks over holiday weekends (e.g. Thanksgiving and Christmas).  The program is designed to give beginners a chance to learn the basics of skating with less of a commitment, both time and financial.  All cubs receive a jersey and socks!  At the end of the program, there will be a graduation, where each player receives a medal and a special gift!

Upon registering families will be given a gift card to Letterman to cover most of the costs of all equipment for the first year. To get started follow the registration link below. Questions? Feel free to email a Mite Director for more information. Contact information can be found on the Board Members page.

  • Registration fees cover association costs for:   MN Hockey District 10 membership, uniforms, referees and tryouts.
  • Season fees cover association costs for:  ice, tournaments, coaching and administration.
    • Season fees are estimates and may vary due to ice availability, number of scrimmages / games, tournament costs and team size.

Financial Hardship / Scholarship Information

SLPYHA Hardship Fund

Parents/Guardians:

We are pleased to announce that a hardship fund has been established that will be put into place for the upcoming season. Links to both the full Hardship Fund Policy and the Hardship Application may be found below. A few of the highlights:

- the Board will set aside a sum of money from our fundraising dollars each season to be used to assist families who have need. No registration or team fees will be used to fund the hardship program. This year the dollar amount is capped at $5,000. Maximum assistance is 50% of registration and/or team fees per player.

- financial assistance will be used to offset SLPYHA registration and/or team fees only; outside costs such as slush funds, apparel and equipment will not be subsidized.

- families must be in good standing in regard to monies owed and the policies of SLPYHA and must have been a member for at least 1 year prior to requesting assistance.

- applications must be completed and submitted by the deadline - this year that is September 1st. The hardship committee will review and make a determination; all decisions are final.

We will review all applications and make a determination in time for you to register your skaters for the season. DO NOT register them until we have notified you to do so.
